Music Ministry
Our Mission Through Music is to proclaim the Word of God through music. More than a performance, our music ministry is a living expression of faith, created to teach, comfort, inspire, motivate, and lift up the spoken Word of God.
In addition to our Sunday morning services, our music ministry, under the direction of Kathleen Osborn Gerdes and J. Chris Moore, presents special events throughout the year, sharing a rich variety of musical talent from near and far.

Chancel Choir
The United Church of Marco Island chancel choir, directed by Chris Moore, provides beautiful anthems and hymns during Sunday worship. Opportunities exist for solo and ensemble singing throughout the year. All skill levels are welcome and auditions are not required.
Handbell Choir
The sound of bells and chimes ringing in our sanctuary is a blessing and joy to all. Handbell rehearsal is weekly during season when pieces are prepared for holidays, special events and at least one worship service per month.

2024-2025 Concerts
Our 2024–25 Concert Series was a joyful celebration of music, bringing together the congregation and community for a rich variety of performances. Highlights included the return of Tim Zimmerman and The King's Brass, the talented Marco Island Charter Middle School Bell Choir, Handbell Festival with Lloyd Larson. We also welcomed acclaimed tenor Arnold Rawls, the Philharmonic’s “Around Town” series with conductor Alvin Ho, Phil Crowley, Stephanie Lorenz, Luis Sandoval, Dickie Fleisher, and many more. Thank you to all who attended and supported this season of beautiful music and fellowship!

Naples Philharmonic Around The Town
GulfShore Opera brings a dynamic trio of versatile artists to UCMI, performing songs and ensembles from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies, Evita, Aspects of Love and Jesus Christ Superstar.
We were honored to have the Golden Gates dancers in our sanctuary as a part of our 2022 concert series. The audience came alive and the atmosphere truly felt like being at an authentic Russian folk festival!

In the Past, UCMI began the Christmas Season with an annual caroling event. A glorious Christmas Eve worship completes the Christmas Season with awe-inspiring music featuring guest musicians and the UCMI choir and bell choir.
