Meet The Director
LuWayne Arnold is a professional musician who has served many churches. LuWayne has led United Church’s music program for over 7 years. We are all blessed by Luwayne's faithfulness and by her musical talent. In her capacity she oversees both our chancel and bell choir, and provides music for all services of worship.
In addition to our Sunday morning worship gatherings, our Music Ministry organizes events throughout the year bringing in some of the best musicians around.
For more information on upcoming events or even how you can be involved in our music program, please see below.
The United Church of Marco chancel choir provides beautiful hymns during the 10 a.m. worship each Sunday during season. Being a member of the UCMI chancel choir provides many opportunities to perform, even outside of the choir. Our men’s quartet performs multiple times during season and many of our choir members perform solos during summer worship. Choir practice begins October 31st. The group meets each Thursday from 3:45-5:00 p.m.
The children of UCMI are also given the opportunity to be apart of the choir! The UCMI children’s choir performs at least twice a year. Practice for children’s choir begins November 1st at 11:00 a.m.
The United Church of Marco bell choir provides beautiful music throughout the year. We are always looking for new members, especially those who read music — no handbell experience required! Rehearsals are every Thursday, beginning October 31st from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Did you play an instrument in school or University?
Looking for a fun way to pick up that instrument and reconnect with music?
The United Church Band is always looking for new members. The band performs at the annual UCMI Jazz Service in addition to multiple performances throughout the season.
If you play an instrument, we’d love to have you. Please contact Wes English through our church office.
