About United Church of Marco Island

The United Church stands in the “free church” tradition where we value local autonomy.  We accept the freedom and the responsibility to order our own affairs, call our own ministers, control and utilize our own resources as we feel our Lord would have us do.  The United Church is a member of the United Church of Christ (UCC) and the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC) which encourages local churches to explore issues of social and theological concern.

United Church of Marco Island is a remarkable church to serve.  The name "United" says it all.  We are a people deeply committed to the acceptance and affirmation of all people.  We believe we are all on a journey - looking for a special relationship with God - and we each find that relationship in different ways and at different times.  There is no hierarchy; there is a team.  Our church staff works closely together, communicating, dreaming, planning and participating in every aspect of church life.  Our Ministries and Governing Board work together and assist each other in every project - all to the glory of God and the unity and fellowship that is possible with those who are deeply committed to Christ's message of love.

We invite you to join us and become a part of a church that is deeply committed not only to unity within this church and the Church Universal, but to an interfaith relationship with all people of all faiths.  We have always been a leader in the community as we worship with our Jewish neighbors, even participating in each other's rituals and activities.  Our Interfaith Thanksgiving Service welcomes people of all faiths, and even no faith, that we might be thankful together in inclusive and common language.  Come and see what openness and affirmation is all about.
